Why I do what I do...

Hey friends! I was asked today by my brother @bradbechler to respond to his post titled: "What are you Doing to Make a Change"

This is what I wrote:

l too feel, like my fellow brother in Christ, like there is a HUGE need for helping people in this world today. I believe that as I grow in Christ, I need to reach out more and more to others who are in need of Him! I remember just a few months ago where I was sitting in church and my Pastor talked about sharing your testimony with others and how much that really helps people. I had also heard that in a Bible Study a week earlier. Now, because I have come to know my Heavenly Father a little better, I believe He was talking to me that day.

As I went home, I prayerfully asked what it is that God wanted me to share and how? I wasn't a preacher, I didn't have a bible study, and most of my friends already know what it going on in my life. That's when the Holy Spirit spoke to me, through a friend of mine, who suggested I blog.

At first, I have to admit, I was shy about it. I didn't think anyone would read it or even care about my life and my pain. To me, my life was boring, but I was missing the Truth and the point.

I realized that my life was not normal, that my life had MANY ups and downs, and that I had been through so many hardships and struggles. I knew then that my Heavenly Father was telling me that no matter how big or small my problems were, by telling my stories and my struggles, other people would be encouraged.

Every time I write I tell myself "someone needs to hear this." That's really the only reason I continue! Since starting I have had SO many people tell me how they were encouraged by this and how they can relate and how they really needed that Word from God that day! To me, that is PRICELESS! God knows your story and your messes, but He wants to turn them into Messages for other people so they can not only get out of what they are doing, but into a victorious life in Jesus!

I am saying all of that to say that this is now my goal. For me it's to help people. God showed me an area where I can minister...online. Now, not only do I blog, but I am on Twitter where I can minister to souls every day who are in need of prayer, or encouragement, or a pat on the back. I am so grateful that I can be a part of helping someone else truly understand who God is and that He has a plan for each and every life!!

I love you and I am always here to help and encourage you!!

Philippians 1:14 "Because of my chains, most of the brothers in the Lord have been encouraged to speak the word of God more courageously and fearlessly."
Colossians 2:2 "My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ."

God bless you friends!

Hey Courtnee. This is Goodgirl213 (Marlette) frome Twitter. I just want you to know that I think it's awesome that you reach out the way you do. I've always wanted to write out my testimony but I just couldn't find the words to say. I realized after reading your blog that the problem was "I". I'm supposed to use it for God's glory and sometimes you need a reminder of that. Thanks for blessing me with your word.

I want to encourage you to continue to blog! You are ministering to so many people, more than you can imagine! I had the same thoughts when I 1st started blogging. Who would want to read anything I would post? But I, just like you, decided to give it to God and when I feel lead, I post about something the Lord has shared with me and I have come to realize that people from all over the world are reading my blog. I have a live traffic feed on mine and I have seen Japan, Germany, and all over on there. Mind you I love to put pictures on mine too of my friends and family. But God is so good! Keep posting! God Bless!
